The jazz students from WBL North had a great time at the 35th annual Head of the Lakes Jazz Fest at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. The students performed well and listen to many great performances. The featured artists were:

- Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Rockford
- Mrs. Anderson . . . Mr. Rockford is in his 16th of teaching music and currently has degrees from Bethel University and St. Mary's University. During his time at White Bear Lake Mr. Rockford taught band in grades 6-12, served as building leader, served as 6-12 music department leader, was named Teacher of the Year for White Bear in 2004-2005, and named Minnesota state semi-finalist for Teacher of the Year in 2006-2007.
